The weak link in cybersecurity
The weak link in cyber security is not a vulnerability in technological systems but the human element. It is a theme that has emerged for some time now and continues to be central to discussions of cyber security.
Hackers have perfected their social engineering techniques, and the scams they carry out today are increasingly sophisticated. They can include targeted phishing attempts, emotional manipulation, and even deception through false identity to attack end users and circumvent technological infrastructure protections.
The Clusit Report 2024
According to the 2024 Clusit Report, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks are growing in proportion even more than Malware-based incidents, which instead account for 51 percent of census incidents in Italy. Educating employees to recognize and prevent tactics used by cyber criminals quickly became a priority for Regione Umbria, which made employee awareness a key asset of its cyber security strategy. So much so that again this year it renews and evolves with Cyber-Bee the training project for its employees to proceed in that process of behavior transformation, which is essential in a truly effective path.
The solution
The effectiveness of Cyber Guru’s three Cyber Security Awareness platform training programs is the solution. Cyber Guru Awareness is a cognitive educational program based on a lifelong learning methodology that ensures the gradual development of awareness through knowledge of network threats and behaviors to prevent cyber attacks.
The results
After one year of training, Regione Umbria has achieved a 70 percent response rate from users involved: the cloud-based platform has enabled users to access training quickly and engagingly.
