The goal was to offer employees a virtual workstation, accessible anywhere, in complete safety. This approach not only supported agile working and co-working, but also improved inclusion by enabling people with disabilities to perform their tasks without limitations.

Thanks to R1 S.p.A.’s experience and Citrix technologies, the IT infrastructure was completely rethought, leading to the creation of a virtualized workstation system capable of ensuring:

The adoption of these solutions has thus made it possible to efficiently manage thousands of users at the same time, with a steady increase over time.
In addition, the architecture defined to host nearly 5,000 virtualized workstations took advantage of the efficiency and reliability of Nutanix as a hyperconverged platform. This allowed for a highly resilient and horizontally scalable system taking into account what could be evolutions of the system over time.
