For the third year in a row, Trice and CyberBee, an R1 Group company, dedicated a workday to corporate volunteering, confirming a commitment that grows and strengthens over time. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with Legambiente, took place May 9 on the Capocotta shoreline, one of the richest dune areas on the Roman coast.
Participating in the activity was a representation of the two teams (about 20 people), engaged in waste collection and monitoring of the materials found. The initiative was attended by the Circolo Legambiente Litorale Romano and Legambiente Lazio, with the presence of regional director Maria Domenica Boiano, and was held in an atmosphere of genuine collaboration, under the banner of caring for the territory and sharing. During the morning, some people present on the beach also spontaneously joined the activity, enthusiastically contributing to make the action even more choral.
Participants were divided into two groups: one engaged in litter collection on a large stretch of beach, the other dedicated to the Beach Litter activity, a scientific monitoring in a defined area conducted according to the European citizen science methodology.
The goal? Combining concrete action with the production of useful data for research and environmental awareness.
The initiative is part of R1 Group’s broader commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility, which has already begun in recent years with similar redevelopment activities in other coastal areas of Lazio.
“Once again this year we worked together to take care of our land. In collaboration with Legambiente, we cleaned up a new shoreline, adding another tangible gesture to our commitment to the environment. In three years, we have helped make three beaches cleaner and more welcoming, thanks to the energy and dedication of our team. We are proud to contribute, one step at a time, to a cleaner and more responsible future” said Vincenza Di Pierno, CEO of Trice.
“Today we are excited to share with you an initiative close to our hearts: we have organized a beach cleanup day! In collaboration with some Cyber-Bee colleagues and Legambiente, we have been working side by side to remove trash and plastics from our coastline, helping to protect the natural beauty that surrounds us. This action is just one of many we are taking to promote sustainability and leave future generations a better place to live in“, added Luca Gabrielli, CEO of Cyber-Bee.
The activity resulted in the total collection of 144 kilograms of waste, including light plastics and fragments, caps, q-tips sticks (banned since 2019) and vehicle components such as brakes, iron wheels and other parts of cars and motorcycles: clear signs of how urban elements can end up in the most fragile natural areas.
The environmental volunteering promoted by R1 Group serves as a concrete example of how the corporate world can actively contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, demonstrating that even the smallest action can make a difference. In recognition of their participation, Legambiente issued Trice and CyberBee with the Corporate Volunteer Identity Card-a document that attests to the value of the initiative and strengthens the link between business and social responsibility.
